U‑PROX: restoring the management window and resetting the desktop configuration

If the “Control Window” does not open:

This is one of the main windows—it cannot be absent, unless the user’s software permissions are restricted (in which case the menu would be greyed out).

Check whether the window isn’t hiding (minimized) in the taskbar area at the bottom of the desktop, or on another monitor.

Аналогічні дії можуть бути із вікном фото-верифікації, чи вікном програми U-PROX.Usually, the “Control Window” opens after selecting Window → Control Window from the main menu, or by pressing Ctrl + Alt + S.

If, after performing these actions, the window does not appear on screen, it may be positioned outside the visible desktop area—i.e. its coordinates are beyond the current monitor bounds.

To bring the window back into view, do the following:

  1. After issuing the open-window command, press Alt + Space to open the standard Windows window menu.
  2. A menu should appear near one edge of the screen.
  3. Select “Move”, then press an arrow key (e.g. →).
  4. Move your mouse cursor toward the center of the screen—the window will snap to follow the cursor.

If the window menu does not appear after Alt + Space, one of your Alt keys may be faulty—try the other Alt key.

If these steps don’t help, proceed with the following on your program server:

  • In the client settings under Action → Settings → Misc, increase “Events per window” to no more than 1000(default is 100).

Download and extract reset-desktop-configuration.zip (contains reset-desktop-configuration.bat) from:

The utility will prepend a “–” to that configuration name, invalidating it. On the next launch of the U-PROX IP Client, a fresh default window layout will be created.

If multiple SQL Server instances exist, edit the first line of reset-desktop-configuration.bat to specify your SQL Server name, for example:pgsqlКопіюватиРедагуватиset SERVER=-S .\sqlexpress

Run reset-desktop-configuration.bat. It will display a list of desktop configurations in the format user@computer and prompt you to choose one.

Use Alt + Space → Mark to select and copy the desired configuration name from the list, paste it into the utility prompt, and press Enter.
