The Basis School in Kyiv is a private research school specializing in the natural sciences (physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology) and advanced English language learning. Founded in 2018, the school quickly gained a reputation as one of the leading educational institutions, ranking first among Kyiv schools in terms of NMT results.
The old access control system did not meet the needs of the school and did not fulfill its functions. In search of a comprehensive solution capable of integrating with the educational process management system, Basis’ technical specialists turned to U-PROX.
The client chose our equipment due to the recommendations, manufacturer’s reputation and high quality of products. To implement our access control system, the client chose an experienced integrator with extensive experience in implementing integrated security solutions using U-PROX equipment.
After analyzing the technical specifications, our engineers proposed a solution based on U-PROX IP software, IP 400 controllers and SE Slim readers, as well as the integration of third-party face recognition terminals. It should be noted that an important factor for the customer was the availability of an API in the access control system for integration with their own MyBasis learning management platform.
The integration and installation process involved the complete replacement of controllers and some readers, as well as the installation of a face recognition terminal at the entrance. Thanks to the experience of working with our equipment, the integrator company completed the installation and configuration extremely quickly, meeting the deadline before the start of the school year.
The U-PROX access control system now controls the entrance to the school, access to the building, and elevator calls. It is integrated with the fire alarm system, which allows you to unlock the doors in case of fire, and our burglar alarm system, which transmits the status to the door access control system to monitor their condition using wireless reed switches and relays.
From now on, when a student enters the school for the first time, the system marks him or her, and the event of successful entry is sent to the school management system. The attendance record is then entered into the school’s electronic journal. Thus, students who have not entered the school are automatically marked as absent. At the same time, if a student enters the school, the teacher sees him or her in the journal. The system also has the ability to inform parents about a student’s entry to the school.
Another successfully optimized process is the report on the number of children who have arrived, which is sent to the kitchen to prepare delicious lunches. At the same time, this allows the kitchen staff to understand who exactly is present on the school grounds. To check in, a student just needs to put his or her bracelet against the U-PROX Desktop reader, which has also been integrated into the school management system.
Thus, by installing the U-PROX ACS, the Basis school received a reliable and flexible access control system that is perfectly integrated into the school’s management processes. Our system has become an invisible assistant that provides a high level of safety and comfort for its students and staff.
