How to integrate turnstiles into the U-PROX IP system

Information about the software and devices is available on the website https://u-prox.systems

On the Downloads page, the page – https://u-prox.systems/software/programs-and-archive/

It supports work with ANY turnstiles, only the settings may differ.

As for turnstiles with pulse control, these are only Forma and Veko models.

You can find descriptions, documentation, and examples in the Technical Support → Technical Support Materials section of the website.

The door mode “Turnstile with pulse control” on the U-PROX IP400 controller is applied only to Forma turnstiles with BUT-NP/10/20 control boards.

For other turnstiles, the connection is performed as for a conventional two-sided door (door type “Two-sided”) in the U-PROX software.

The doors on the IP400 controller are of the “Two-sided” type:

  • Relay 3 (“lock”) – connected to the line «<door name> — entrance».
The operating mode is “pulse” (0 – 1 – 2 s). It is triggered when passing inside through an input reader or button, as well as by a command from the software.
  • Relay 4 (“lock”) – connected to the line «<door name> — exit».
The operating mode is “pulse” (0-1-2 s). Triggered when exiting via an output reader or button, as well as by a command from the software.
  • Relay 1 or 2 (“turnstile”) – “start-stop” mode. It is used to activate the “free passage / anti-panic” mode when the bar is lowered, the rotor rotates without obstacles, and the latches remain open.
  • Please note that the state of this relay is the opposite of the free passage mode: in normal mode, the relay is ON, so a two-contact relay (C/NC/NO) is required. When the “free passage” mode is activated, the relay is switched off.

All zones (loops, inputs) of the controller must be equipped with 2-kΩ resistors included in the package.

If you want to install a passage detector, the turnstile outputs should be connected, for example, as follows (for separate detectors for entrance and exit):

  • Zone Z1 – “sensor” → line «<door name> — entrance»
  • Zone Z2 – “sensor” → line «<door name> — exit»
  • If one common input/output sensor is used:
    • Zone Z1 – “sensor” → «<door name

You do not need to connect the detectors – the system will work without them.

Passage request buttons

If you need additional RTE (request-to-exit) buttons:

  • Zone Z3 – “passage request button” → «<door name> — entrance»
  • Zone Z4 – “passage request button” → «<door name> — exit»

“Free passage” / “Lock” buttons (with locking)

  1. General unlocking/locking of both directions:
    • Zone Z5 — “free passage” → «<door name
    • Zone Z6 — “blocking” → «<door name
  2. Альтернативний варіант із роздільним керуванням входу й виходу:
    • Zone Z5 — “free passage” → «<door name> — entrance»
    • Zone Z6 — “free passage” → «<door name> — exit»
    • Zone Z7 — “blocking” → «<door name> — entrance»
    • Zone Z8 — “blocking” → «<door name> — exit»

Once the configuration is complete, boot the U-PROX controllers in the management window.
