Steps to resolve errors that occurred during the installation of U-PROX software

Installation Failure Notification

Installation errors typically occur due to leftover data from a previous installation, most often caused by manual user actions. Specifically:

  • The application folder and databases were deleted, but the old SQL Server instance remains active, still referencing the now-deleted databases, which prevents the creation of new ones with the same names.
    → Solution: You must first remove the references to these databases from SQL Server.
  • The application and SQL Server were uninstalled, but the old database files remain in the folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\A2SoftIn\UProxIP\
    or the folder was not renamed, which may block the new installation process.

Standard instructions

Try installing or reinstalling the full software suite according to the following recommendations:

Installation language selection
When launching the installer, select the interface language. If the server was installed in English, the entire interface will remain in English.

Pre-installation setup
Open the section “Support → MOST POPULAR QUESTIONS” and complete step no. 11. Ignoring this step may result in the service failing to start due to a risk of database corruption.

Installation order
Install components strictly in the following order:

  • Server
  • Client
  • Web Server

Otherwise, the system will not operate correctly or install at all.

Web server specifics
The web server is not a standalone application, but an extension of the “classic” server.

Component versions
All components must be of the same version.

See detailed installation rules in the “Installation Rules” section during the launch of the installation package.

Recommended software version: v3.057.7988.

Download the ISO image of U-PROX software version 3.57.7988 and install or update your existing version.

Update in the following sequence – Server, Client, Web Server, Desktop Server – on the program server;
and Client and Desktop Server on remote client workstations.

  • Десктоп-Сервер – там де використовується Веб-Клієнт та USB зчитувач U-PROX Desktop.

After upgrading to a newer version, refresh the page in the browser using “Ctrl+F5” to reload with cache clearing.

If installation issues occur, follow this sequence of actions:

  1. Complete removal of existing components:
    • Uninstall the U-Prox IP server and client software, as well as all SQL Server instances.
    • Delete or rename the folder where U-Prox IP was installed.
    • Restart the PC.
      Note: There should be no other SQL Server installations on the machine — otherwise, the installer may attempt to use them instead of creating the recommended instance.
  2. Clean installation:
    • Launch the U-Prox IP installation package and first install the server, then the client.
    • The installer will automatically install the recommended version of SQL Server.
  3. Database restoration:
    • Restore the databases from the automatic backup directory or from a backup created before the installation process.
    • Keep the “Update database to current version” checkbox enabled.
    • After the restoration is complete, start the “U-Prox IP Equipment Service”.
