Remote Workstation Setup in U-PROX IP

If the following message appears on the remote client:

Although everything is working correctly on the server, this indicates that the operating system user does not have sufficient access rights to the database files.
In other words, the account on the client PC does not have full permissions to interact with the server-side database.

Additionally, if you continue receiving an error similar to the following:

This means that Step 1 in the “FAQ” section was not performed correctly — please repeat the steps!
Also, make sure to review Steps 8 and 11 in that section.

Please pay attention to the following requirements:

  1. Operating System User Credentials
The username and password (at least basic credentials) on the client PC must match those on the server.
Additionally, the user must be added to the U-PROX IP Users group on the server where U-PROX software is installed. If the user account has no password, access to the databases will be denied due to SQL Server security policies.
  2. Database Update
After adding the user to the U-PROX IPUsers group, launch the utility AcsMaintenance.exe and execute the third (bottom) option – “Update database to the current version.” Then:
    • Restart the SQL Server service,
    • Make sure the U-PROX software runs under this OS user account on the server.
  3. Administrative Privileges
On some operating systems with strict security policies, you may need to run the utility or client software as Administrator.
  4. Client PC Verification
After successfully launching the software on the server, repeat the check on the client computer.
  5. If the Issue Persists
If access still fails, create a new user account with the login 1 and password 1 on both the server and client, and repeat all the above steps.
