Resetting the Master Card of the USB Reader in U-PROX Desktop — Step by Step

Resetting the Master Cards of the U-PROX Desktop USB Reader is done via U-PROX technical support — please send a request to support@u-prox.systems.

To submit your request, provide the following information:

  • GID (the unique serial number of your U-PROX Desktop USB reader)
  • Name of the organization or distributor that supplied the device

This information is required to prepare a master card reset file specifically for your reader.

The GID is usually printed on the back label of the device, or it can be retrieved via the COM port console using the icommand.

  • In the sample output, the GID number is highlighted in gray.

After receiving the master_reset-XXXXX.license file from U-PROX technical support, follow these steps:

  1. Save the attached file to the Downloads folder (used by the U-PROX Config app on iOS or Android).
  2. Open the U-PROX Config mobile app and scan for nearby devices.
  3. Tap and hold on the desired device in the search results until the context menu appears, then select the previously saved master_reset-XXXXX.license file.

The master_reset-XXXXX.license file is single-use only and is tied to a specific GID. It cannot be reused or applied to another device.
