How to install and restore U-PROX software: step-by-step guide

The latest version of the Golden Gate software series 2.xxx:

Installation instructions:
For version 2.207, the instructions are included on the installation disc/package and additionally in the “ForInstaller”directory (special installation notes).

Incompatibility:
The software is not supported on Windows 10 and newer operating systems — its launch and stable operation are not guaranteed.

Databases in Golden Gate are files located in the directory

“С:\Program Files\ITV\Golden Gate 2002\” or “С:\ITV\Golden Gate 2002\“

and have names

GGLite.mdf

GGLite_log.ldf

GGLite_01.mdf

GGLite_01_log.ldf

…

GGLite_ХХ.mdf

GGLite_ХХ_log.ldf

– and always an even number of them, and at least 4 files

– the backup of the program databases contains ALL information – personnel, cards, equipment, settings, events…

– and looks like:

GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss

GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss_add_01

…

GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss_add_ХХ

where GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss is the main database, and GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss_add_XX are the event logs — always at least 2 files in total.

– when restoring a copy of databases, only the main database is specified – GGLiteDB_yy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss

If the OS is Windows 7/8, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008/2012:

We recommend reviewing the “ForInstaller” directory in this package — for installation on Win 7 (Win 8), Win SRV 2003, Win SRV 2008 (Win SRV 2012).

You can use the SQL Server from the “Prerequisites” directory of the 3.xxx version installation disc, or download it from the Microsoft website — the link is provided in the instructions further below.

SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express

It is recommended to use the ENU (English) version of SQL Server.

Updating databases on versions 2.180-2.207

Run the GGFixSQL utility from the program folder:

• open GGFixSQL.exe with administrator rights (Run as Administrator);
• check only the “Add protection from incompatible versions” option, and leave the rest inactive;
• click Fix, wait until the database update is complete, and then close the utility.

Run the GGFixDB utility from the program folder. Fix all errors found:

• open GGFixDB.exe with administrator privileges;
• please note that it can take up to 10 minutes to complete.

Run GGFixSQL again. Fix all errors except for “Duplicated Events” (it can take a long time to remove duplicates).

Launch Golden Gate. The first launch may take longer than usual.

• Go to the menu “Action → Settings”, then open the “Event Log Parameters” tab;
• Ensure that the option “Enable log size check” is enabled, and that the maximum size does not exceed 1600 MB. If it is set higher — reduce it to 1600 MB.

Restart the PC. Make sure that the services ItvdbNotifier, ItvPacketManager, and Golden Gate Hardware Servicehave started automatically.

Setting up the operation of the NDC-B052 controller.

For software versions 2.xxx, if there is an NDC-B052 controller with an Ethernet interface on the network, its ID is specified as the name of a string parameter in the registry, and the controller’s IP address is used as the value:
