Do you want your security system to respond instantly and operate longer without replacing batteries?
WOR (Wake-On-Radio) in wireless security systems is a technology that allows radio devices to remain in deep sleep mode and “wake up” only when a specific radio signal is received.
This feature also allows us to “wake up” keyboards, sirens, photo-verification sensors, etc. to activate an audible signal when there is a delay at the entrance/exit and an audible alarm almost instantly.
From now on, WOR (Wake-On-Radio) technology is available in keypads, sirens, and photo-verification sensors.
Previously, before the introduction of WOR technology, the wake-up time in “Armed” mode was about 10 seconds, and in “Disarmed” mode – up to 2 minutes.
Therefore, in U-PROX security systems, the use of WOR improves interactivity and extends the operating time of wireless sensors (e.g., PIR Cam) and executive devices (keyboards) on a single set of batteries by applying an optimal test period (the so-called polling frequency) without significantly reducing it, as was usually done before.
WOR technology makes U-PROX equipment the ideal solution for modern security systems, providing a balance between reliability, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.
Add U-PROX security systems with WOR to your projects, and your customers will feel the difference from day one.
Want to be on trend with modern secure identification technologies in access control systems?
The multi-standard U-PROX Desktop reader with USB interface now supports Mifare DesFire secure identifier technology – a family of 13.56 MHz contactless chips compatible with the ISO/IEC 14443 A standard.
At the request of our foreign customers and foreign companies currently operating in Ukraine, U-PROX engineers have made it possible to use DesFire technology for our ACS.
The new firmware for the U-PROX Desktop USB reader allows the issuance of encrypted DesFire identifiers/cards of all generations of this technology currently available: EV1, EV2, EV3. Desktop readers by U-PROX are also capable of reading these cards in encrypted form.
So, what is DesFire (Data Encryption Standard Files with Random Access) technology?
It was created in response to the hacking of Mifare Classic cards, which date back to 1994, even before the advent of Mifare Plus in 2008.
In 2002-2004, DesFire EV1 appeared, and the evolution continued with improvements in security, speed, number of supported files and applications, memory, compatibility with mobile platforms, and IoT support. In 2016, EV2 appeared, and in 2020, EV3.
Where is DesFire used?
Many transport and payment systems run on DesFire technology, making these cards attractive for use as identifiers in access control systems alongside other “projects” recorded on them.
Test the new capabilities of U-PROX Desktop in your projects! Contact us, and our engineers will help you integrate DesFire quickly and securely.
Usually, a motion sensor simply reports an alarm, but it is not always clear what caused it. Photo verification removes any doubts – you can immediately see what is happening at the facility.
U-PROX PIR Cam combines the functions of a motion sensor and a camera, adding “eyes” to the alarm system and combining this with modern technical capabilities:
motion detection range up to 12 m
immunity to animals weighing up to 20 kg
infrared illumination up to 8 m
photo transmission up to 9 seconds (in medium quality)
two-way secure radio communication between the sensor and the hub
autonomous operation up to 3 years on the included batteries
support for OTA updates.
The sensor is available in two body colors — white and black. The choice of color affects not only the appearance but also the practicality.
The white body blends harmoniously with the light walls of residential and office spaces, making the device inconspicuous and reducing the likelihood of unwanted attention.
The matte black body blends well into dark interiors — movie theaters, showrooms, modern apartments, or offices with dark ceilings and walls, where it is important to remain inconspicuous.
For designers and engineers, this means the ability to easily integrate the sensor into the space without compromising between design and security, combining aesthetics and functionality.
With U-PROX, combine design and security without compromise. Add PIR Cam to your projects today!

The main elements of the access control system with which people interact, correctly or not quite correctly, are readers.
Introducing the vandal-proof U-PROX SE Steel and U-PROX SL Steel readers – a reliable solution that meets the stringent environmental requirements of public places.
The readers can withstand adverse weather conditions, accidental and intentional physical damage, and are recommended for installation in office and warehouse buildings, residential complexes, hotels, industrial enterprises, parking lots, and other facilities.
The devices support modern Mifare technologies and work with tamper-proof Mifare Plus (in SL3, AES mode) and Mifare Desfire EV1/EV2/EV3 (AES) cards, Mifare Classic cards, 125 kHz cards, and U‑PROX ID mobile identifiers.
Key features of both models:
updated vandal-proof housing made of 1.2 mm stainless steel, IP 65 protection, temperature range from −40 °C to +60 °C
support for various ID formats: 125 kHz (ASK/FSK), Mifare Classic, Mifare Plus (SL1), Mifare Plus (SL3), Mifare DESfire EV1/EV2/EV3, U‑PROX ID mobile identifiers (NFC/2.4 GHz) and active identifiers U-PROX TAG and U-PROX Auto TAG
3 mobile identification modes: Door-Proximity – activation by proximity sensor (10–20 cm), Door (up to 70 cm) and Barrier/Gate (up to 12 m)
firmware configuration and updates via the U‑PROX Config mobile app (Android NFC/BLE)
What is the difference between U-PROX SE Steel and U-PROX SL Steel?
U-PROX SE Steel supports the secure OSDP2.2 protocol
U-PROX SE Steel has “last mile” protection – an encrypted connection (AES-128) between the reader and the controller
U-PROX SE Steel can be connected up to 1000 m away from the controller via the RS-485 (OSDP) interface
So, when should you choose U-PROX SE Steel?
SE Steel is ideal where maximum security and modern solutions are important:
office and business centers with increased security requirements
large corporate facilities with remote access administration
critical infrastructure facilities where strict encryption is required (AES-128 via OSDP)
warehouses and manufacturing facilities with high frequency of changes in access parameters and identifiers
premium residential complexes where flexibility and security of the access control system are important
When to choose U-PROX SL Steel?
U-PROX SL Steel is the optimal choice for facilities that require basic security, vandal resistance, and support for popular identification formats:
the access control system allows readers to be connected only via Wiegand, TouchMemory, or RS-232 protocols
multi-apartment residential buildings and entrances
parking lots, garages, and barriers
small offices, shops, and commercial premises
medical and educational institutions with moderate security requirements
museums, hotels, and sports facilities with a limited budget for access control infrastructure.

On August 7, in Kyiv, together with our partner, Triniti-SB company, we held a seminar-presentation of U-PROX and TVT Digital new integration solutions in the field of video surveillance, security systems, and access control.
U-PROX brand manager Mykola Shevchenko shared the following expert insights: 1. How video surveillance is integrated into U-PROX security alarms and access control systems.
3. Scenarios for video verification of alarms and the use of TVT ANPR cameras for parking lots, industrial facilities, and residential complexes.
The event brought together industry professionals, served as a platform for sharing experiences, and showed how the synergy of U-PROX and TVT Digital technologies opens up new horizons in security.
A pleasant bonus from U-PROX for participants was a raffle of our security systems for the authors of the most interesting questions.
