We have improved the operation of U-PPROX Smoke fire detectors in the U-PROX Home app – now users can quickly turn off the alarm sound and temporarily suspend the detector’s response for 10 minutes.

How the function works:

• when U-PPROX Smoke is triggered, a new option, “Turn off alarm sound,” appears in the U-PROX Home app.
• after pressing it, a warning window appears: “You are turning off the sensor response for 10 minutes. Yes/No?”

This allows the user to quickly respond to everyday smoke incidents, such as a frying pan, cigarette, etc., without completely disabling the sensor and compromising the overall security of the facility.

Do you want your security system to respond instantly and operate longer without replacing batteries?

WOR (Wake-On-Radio) in wireless security systems is a technology that allows radio devices to remain in deep sleep mode and “wake up” only when a specific radio signal is received.

This feature also allows us to “wake up” keyboards, sirens, photo-verification sensors, etc. to activate an audible signal when there is a delay at the entrance/exit and an audible alarm almost instantly.

From now on, WOR (Wake-On-Radio) technology is available in keypads, sirens, and photo-verification sensors.

Previously, before the introduction of WOR technology, the wake-up time in “Armed” mode was about 10 seconds, and in “Disarmed” mode – up to 2 minutes.

Therefore, in U-PROX security systems, the use of WOR improves interactivity and extends the operating time of wireless sensors (e.g., PIR Cam) and executive devices (keyboards) on a single set of batteries by applying an optimal test period (the so-called polling frequency) without significantly reducing it, as was usually done before.

The multi-standard U-PROX Desktop reader with USB interface now supports Mifare DesFire secure identifier technology – a family of 13.56 MHz contactless chips compatible with the ISO/IEC 14443 A standard.

At the request of our foreign customers and foreign companies currently operating in Ukraine, U-PROX engineers have made it possible to use DesFire technology for our ACS.

The new firmware for the U-PROX Desktop USB reader allows the issuance of encrypted DesFire identifiers/cards of all generations of this technology currently available: EV1, EV2, EV3. Desktop readers by U-PROX are also capable of reading these cards in encrypted form.

So, what is DesFire (Data Encryption Standard Files with Random Access) technology?

It was created in response to the hacking of Mifare Classic cards, which date back to 1994, even before the advent of Mifare Plus in 2008.

In 2002-2004, DesFire EV1 appeared, and the evolution continued with improvements in security, speed, number of supported files and applications, memory, compatibility with mobile platforms, and IoT support. In 2016, EV2 appeared, and in 2020, EV3.

Many transport and payment systems run on DesFire technology, making these cards attractive for use as identifiers in access control systems alongside other “projects” recorded on them.

Set up reminders in four easy steps:

1. In the “Notifications and Reminders” section of the U-PROX Home app, enable Arming/Disarming Reminders.

2. Select the location of your property on the map.

3. Go to the “Geo Reminders” section, select the type of notification (reminder when leaving and/or entering the property) and, if necessary, activate precise geofence tracking.

4. Select the desired radius of approach to your property (100, 300, or 600 meters) and click “Finish.”
